A Little about Me...
About Kimberly Suraj, Registered Dietitian
Ever since I was a child, health and fitness was always important to me. I participated in school aerobics competitions and just loved being active.
What got me even more interested in food and healthy eating was when my grandmother, a Type 1 Diabetic, ended up at the hospital and almost went into a coma!
In researching ways to prevent low blood sugars, the phrase "managing your diet"
kept coming up.
It was then I switched Degree programs from Biochemistry to Nutrition and Dietetics.
My hobbies are trying new recipes, dancing, and learning new things.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, a post-graduate diploma in Institutional Community Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of the West Indies Trinidad and Tobago, and a post-graduate Diabetes Educator Certificate from The Michener Institute for Applied Health Sciences in Canada.
I am currently studying how to manage clients suffering from IBS .
Also, I have a great interest in managing children who are epileptic.
I'm registered with The Council for Health Professionals Related to Medicine, Registration Number 767
I currently work at NCRHA while simultaneously managing a nutrition, diet and weight management private practice at various locations, which include Occupational Health Solutions (Lange Park, Chaguanas), Evolution Fitness Gym (Chaguanas), Rampersad's Medical Centre (Freeport), and Trincity.
